FEP Blue has a strong focus on preventive care with an emphasis on health and wellness. This health promotion is aimed to help provide affordable insurance to federal employees. BCBS Federal members who currently have a healthy lifestyle, achieving their health and wellness goals to eat a healthy diet that helps weight management, exercise, quit smoking and other preventative care measures to curb fatal disease like COPD and congestive heart failure won’t need to see a doctor as often which is a benefit for both patient and FEPBlue. These saving on BCBS are then passed to the customer giving them affordable insurance.

With the FEPBlue MyBlue incentive program supporting choices geared towards health and wellness of federal employees and their families, a healthy lifestyle is rewarded. The federal employee will have to complete a health assessment which puts a $50 credit onto a FEPBlue MyBlue prepaid debit card. After completing the health assessment members are given the opportunity to earn an additional $120 to their FEPBlue MyBlue by completely certain health and wellness goals.

Federal employees have to complete three additional goals related to a healthy lifestyle in areas of nutrition, weight management, exercise, and emotional health.
